Viva Oliva Soup - French Onion

Enjoy the rich flavors of our French Onion Soup, made with slow-cooked onions, beef stock, red wine, and brandy.

Directions: Pour the soup into a saucepan and bring to a simmer. You may add additional beef stock to dilute the soup to your desired consistency. While the soup is simmering, prep your toppings. Toast your favorite rustic bread until it is golden crispy.

Once the soup is warm, ladle the soup into an oven safe bowl, top with toasted bread and your favorite cheese: gruyere, swiss, or mozzarella cheese. Set your oven to broil. Place the bowls on a rimmed baking sheet about 6 inches from the heat and broil for 2-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, keeping a close eye on the cheese so that it does not burn. Serve while the cheese is freshly melted and the soup is hot and bubbly. Enjoy!
